The Grand Sovereign's Care For Children Fund

Our Story
Prior to July 2010, this fund was known as the "Red Cross of Constantine Millennium Fund" (R.C.C.M.F.). The name was updated to better reflect the evolving focus of the Fund. Originally established in 2000, the R.C.C.M.F. aimed to support children whose lives were profoundly impacted by circumstances beyond their control, such as the devastating tsunami in Southeast Asia.
With nearly 5,000 members in the Order, the Grand Sovereign’s Care for Children Fund is primarily supported by donations from Worthy Knights, their families, and contributions from Conclaves and Divisions. This collective generosity underscores a shared commitment to addressing the pressing needs and challenges faced by children’s charities in today’s difficult times.
into Action
The amount of grants made over the years has reached almost £420,000. Successful divisions can be awarded anything up to £2,500 for their chosen charity and if all divisions apply this can be anything up to £75,000 - even if just one submission is accepted. As long as the criteria of being a capital grant, specifically ringfenced for children up to the age of 18, is met, then the request will be considered by the panel.
The application is simple. If you have a charity in mind then refer it to your Intendant-General with a case for consideration and he will take the decision as to whether it needs further work or to send it through to our Charities Manager, Darren at Mark Masons' Hall. The fund has a very high success rate for approvals.

Applications must be submitted to your Divisional Recorder for review and must be endorsed by the Intendant-General before being shared with the Charities Manager, Darren Coleman-Heald.
Once a suitable children’s charity has been identified, then a written proposal should be put together which should include the following information:

Any other supporting documentation such as flyers, brochures, quotes or invoices.
The Fund makes donations to Charities and other organisations whose work is directly concerned with the welfare and care of children. Funding is not made for things such as conference costs, fund raising events, salaries or general charity running costs.
Please note that if any charity nominated by your Division has successfully received a grant in the previous 2 years, then the application will not be accepted. If you are unclear as to whether your request will be eligible, please contact Darren at d.coleman@mmh.org.uk.
Once the information as guided here is collected, it should then be submitted to your Divisional Recorder to be reviewed and endorsed by the Intendant-General. Once approved, the documents will then be forwarded to Darren at d.coleman@mmh.org.uk for consideration.
Please Note: All applications should be directed to Darren Coleman-Heald, while all donations should be forwarded to the Charities Finance Team at charitiesfinance@mmh.org.uk
