Our Story
Order of the Secret Monitor Benevolent Fund

The O.S.M. Fund of Benevolence was founded at the close of the nineteenth Century, and in December 1899 it was formally opened with a credit balance of seventeen guineas.

In the early years of the twentieth century, a number of senior members of the O.S.M. introduced the appendant Order of the Scarlet Cord specifically as a means of attracting donations to the Fund. Today the Fund annually distributes tens of thousands of pounds to Secret Monitor Petitioners and local charities through its Match Funding Program.

R.Wy.Bro. Scott Dunn
Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler for Kent

At the Grand Conclave 2024, the Grand Supreme Ruler, M.Wy.Bro. Andrew C. Sweeney, proudly introduced exclusive Collarettes for Provincial Grand Supreme Rulers, a distinguished addition to the regalia designed to be worn with pride. This milestone coincides with an extraordinary achievement by the Province of Kent, which has become the first to earn the esteemed Patron status. Notably, the Province's oldest Provincial Arch of Steel Conclave, Victor Pride of Kent No. 188, has led the way by attaining the Patron status, a first of its kind. In an outstanding accomplishment, all nine Conclaves within the Province have now achieved the  Patron honorifics.
