AMD London District - £12,000 to Shelter Homeless Charity

amd london shelter02

Congratulations to the District Grand Council of London who raised a staggering £12,000 for the Shelter Homeless Charity. The cheque was presented to Aaron Hearne of the charity by R.W.Bro. Colin Woodcock, MBE, District Grand Prefect, at their District Grand Council meeting last Saturday.

R.W.Bro. Colin said, ‘We raised a lot of the money from the sale of our AMD mugs and the proceeds were spread across our Districts as Shelter is a national charity. Across the country we see the homeless on our streets, but it is just the tip of an enormous, heart-breaking problem not only covering the lack of accommodation but also mental illness, and the sheer danger of living in the open. I must also thank my Assistant District Grand Secretary, W.Bro. Scott Cargill, P.G.Stwd., who raised £6,615 by spending one very cold night on the streets of London last March.’

St John Ambulance of Guernsey Receive a new ambulance

It was certainly a Grand turnout in Guernsey for the latest handover event for St John Ambulance. The Pro Grand Master and Assistant Grand Master joined the Provincial Grand Master for the Channel Islands, R.W.Bro. Derek Upton, and many others for the ambulance delivery in the continuing rollover of the new £3.3 million fleet.
